Working as Independent Environmental Monitoring Consultant for 660 MW Coal Fired Power Plant at Thar Coal Block-II.
Role and Responsibilities:
I am Currently Working as “Environmental Specialist” with M/s. Muhkamdin Solangi (MDS) & Co. for \"Recoupment of Damaged Stone Pitching & Earth Work along Sagyoun Matiari (S.M.) Bund from Mile 123/0 to 172/0 at different reaches in Hala Irrigation Division, Hala, Matiari” awarded under Sindh Resilience Project (SRP), World Bank Funded Project for Mitigating floods and droughts in Sindh. Being an Environmental Specialist I am responsible for;
Preparation of Environment & Social Management and Mitigation Plan (ESMMP).
Fulfillment of Environmental Checklists for ongoing development works.
Supervise, Implement and Monitoring of ESMMP.
Conduct Daily, Weekly & Monthly health and safety risk Assessments.
Conduct Regular Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and Environment, Health & Safety Trainings to raise capacity of field teams and workforce;
Assist 3rd party Environmental Effects Monitoring including; air quality, water quality, wastewater quality, vehicular emission quality and noise pollution control; on monthly basis.
Produce and submit reports i.e. Monthly, Quarterly and Annually.
Responsible for Tree Plantation as a part of \"Go Green Environment\".
Responsible for Camp Management i.e Waste management, Housekeeping, Fire safety etc.
Conduct meetings with local communities for implementation of Grievance Redressal Mechanism Plan.
Any other task assigned by the Environmental & Social Specialists of Project Management Team (PMT) and Project Implementation Supervision and Support Consultants (PISSCs).
Worked as “Environmental Engineer” with Project Implementation Assistance and Supervision Consultants (PIASCs)/Crescent Consultants Consortium (C3) to support & assist Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of Four District Field Teams including Thatta, Sujawal, Badin and Karachi for the project “Sindh Irrigated Agriculture Productivity Enhancement Project (SIAPEP)”, a World Bank Financed Project. My basic role in the project was to supervise and assist in implementation of compliances over environmental issues observed during project interventions i.e. Watercourse Improvement, Installation of High Efficiency Irrigation Systems (HEIS), Construction of Flood Shelters, and Kitchen Gardening.
Being an Environmental Engineer I was responsible for;
Assessing the environmental issues and their mitigation measures as indicated in Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) prepared as per World Bank Safeguards Policy.
Proper disposal of excavated silt/earth through using in backfilling of lined watercourses, for rehabilitation of local communities crossing roots and adding residual soil to nearby Agricultural Lands.
Ensuring the provision of alternatives while ongoing constructions and their proper removal after completion.
Proper disposal of construction and solid waste, generated while construction of watercourses and installation of HEIS system.
Ensuring the tree plantation as a complementary or against tree cutting as per project policy 4:1.
Conduct communities meetings along with social mobilizer for recording their issues related project intervention and their resolution.
Conduct meetings with local communities for discussion and deciding the position of culverts and washing bays.
Conduct meetings cum trainings for capacity building of local communities related to environmental, health & safety issues.
In the Absence of Environmental Specialist, I have acted as In-charge and produced Monthly Progress Report.
Being an \"Environmental Field Engineer\" worked with NUST Islamabad for the World Bank assisted project “Renewable Energy Resource Mapping and Geospatial Planning – Pakistan [Project ID: P146140] (Phase 1-3)” in which I was part of Sindh region team and my duty was:
Conduct meetings with stakeholders for sharing information related to usage of agricultural residue (Biomass).
Conduct field surveys and collect the data for wastage of agricultural residue after harvesting or completion of season of the crop.
Prepare and submit reports on daily basis.
Collaborate and coordinate with field teams of Agriculture Extension, Agriculture Department, Government of Sindh, Pakistan.
Being an \"Environment, Health & Safety Engineer\" my job role was:
Monitor and Inspect ongoing site activities for issues related to EHS.
Prepare and keep the official data updated.
Conducted the Civil surveys and help the civil engineer.
Conducted TBTs and other trainings for capacity building of employee
Conducted Internal EHS audits.
